- Recorded bird species and sums will be judged according to the bird list of the Chinese Wild Bird Federation published in 2020. In the field, you should also record any exotic species. If there are any controversies over a bird species, it will be judged based on the explanation from the leader of the team that recorded it. Whether to accept the record will be discussed and a decision will be made; no dissent or objections will be allowed.
-
For each bird, at least three members of a team must see or hear it at the same time in order to record it, and sincere and honest principles are expected (for a bird only heard, you can record that you heard it, not count it as seen).
NOTE: If you observe behavior that indicates that the bird's ecology has changed, then please reliably record it.
-
If an unusual bird is heard (one not normally seen in the Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area), one should complement the record with a photograph or audio recording, and present the evidence. But please use a remote recording method, and do not disturb the bird's activities during the recording (the use of food as bait and recordings of bird calls to entice birds is strictly prohibited; anyone found in violation will be disqualified).
-
Participating teams should be aware of their own personal safety at all times. Forest roads that are off limits cannot be used. Where the road condition is bad or there is no way to enter an area, then do not force your way in.
-
For nighttime observations, please carry a flashlight, be careful of your safety, and be aware of snakes. Prevent using lights for long periods of time to illuminate an organism, and do not disturb wild animals' activities.
